Job Title: Head of Development

Department: Digital

Hours of Work: 9am-5pm Mon-Fri

We are looking for a candidate who has the following skills and attributes:

  • Prior experience working at a similar level, overseeing multiple development teams, owning project delivery, and reporting at an Exec level
  • Significant experience in designing, architecting and implementing software, from end user requirements through to production delivery
  • Able to understand, scope, and challenge end user requirements, and then translate them into a clear system design and distinct technical tasks
  • Able to translate complex technical details into non-technical concepts, and effectively communicate with non-technical stakeholders
  • Expert at designing and implementing systems using an API-first approach, understanding when to apply a REST vs RPC approaches
  • Excellent understanding of the full web networking stack including IP, TCP, HTTP, TLS, proxies, and load balancers
  • Experience working within and implementing microservice architectures

Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly management accounting and reporting for the Odeon division
  • Accountability for the accurate and timely processing of transactions for the Odeon agency business
  • Partner with the Odeon Account Director supporting them to meet their business targets, adding value through insight, reporting and process expertise
  • Identify opportunities to improve the business processes and system controls and automation for the Odeon business
  • Completion of monthly overhead reporting for the Opia Group and Divisions including posting of prepayments, accruals and undertaking variance analysis
  • Completion of monthly accounts for Opia subsidiaries including calculation of monthly intercompany recharges in line with agreed methodology
  • Allocation of costs to jobs including internal time costing allocations, payment processing and overview of rebates processing
  • Maintain fixed asset register and monthly posting of depreciation and amortisation journals
  • Support the Financial Controller with the consolidation and submission of results to VRL Corporate
  • Post timesheet cost allocations to jobs and provide insight and analysis on productivity and charge rates
  • Support the business with knowledge of the end to end rebate payment processes ensuring correct system set up for each project
  • Support finance team in undertaking rebate payment processing activities including identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls
  • Co-ordinate with the monthly balance sheet reconciliation processes for the Opia Group which will include both preparing and/or reviewing reconciliations
  • Support the Financial Controller to ensure that variances are investigated and resolved in a timely manner
  • Monitor Opia’s cash position including funding of payments in multiple currencies and between entities
  • Assist the Financial Controller with preparing cashflow and balance sheet forecasts
  • Support the Financial Controller in improving the operating controls and compliance environment
  • Preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for Odeon Division, Staffing Costs and Overheads across the entire Opia Group
  • Undertake variance and gap analysis for budgets and forecasts against actuals or revisions
  • Support the Financial Controller in preparation of consolidated Opia Group budgets and forecasts for submission to VRL
  • Support the Financial Controller during the annual financial audits including preparing information and schedule requests and attending to audit queries
  • Prepare for submission the relevant VAT or equivalent returns across all entities
  • Assist the Financial Controller in the submission of Corporation Tax Returns through external advisers including attending to information requests and queries

Job Title:Business Development Director – Business Process Outsourcing

We are seeking an experienced, talented, hungry and motivated Business Development Director to lead our growth in Business Process Outsourcing.   Specifically, we seek expertise in selling solutions that require some/all of our services including: website creation, claim or application management and validation, customer services (call/email/web chat), provision of payment/vouchers/physical rewards, reporting, or program management.  An example of which could be the management of “Delay Repay” type services, although there are many other applications.

We seek a candidate with at least 5 years’ experience in creating, supporting, selling & closing of BPO and/or Business Services solutions. We are looking for a mover and shaker, a confident and experienced new Business Development expert.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in selling solutions into private businesses, via solution selling/consultative selling approach.  They will also have experience in working on Tenders/RFPs, however the Tenders/RFPs will be managed by a separate team within Opia.

The primary purpose of the role is to drive New Business Development, and from the won business create growth within our Operations Teams, by increasing the flow of opportunities and deals, and then leading the qualified opportunities through the sales phases until closed.

The role will hold responsibility for improving our sales performance, driving new business and advising on business strategy, including opening new markets and verticals within the UK & Northern Europe.

Main Duties 

  • Driving sales through new client acquisition, primarily through prospecting activities and personal networks.
  • Identifying opportunities by positioning Opia’s value proposition and demonstrating the value and benefit that Opia’s approach offers to Business Process Outsourcing services.
  • Using qualification methodologies to make recommendations on which opportunities should be pursued by Opia.
  • Develop relationships with buyers through personal meetings, presentations, speaking engagements, business networking other business or social gatherings.
  • Providing a consultative approach to selling, with demonstration of understanding of clients’ product portfolio, business objectives and the challenges they face in their market.
  • Shape, lead and participate in proposal activities including face to face, telephone and video call sessions, as well as support in developing & reviewing written proposals and pitches.
  • Providing strategic input based on market activity into the Company’s business plan in the UK & Northern Europe.
  • Assisting the Sales Director in creating and leading the UK new business strategy and growth. Maintaining a consistent trajectory of growth, while avoiding obstacles that arise.
  • Keeping abreast of latest developments within the industry and identifying new market opportunities.
  • Act as the key contact for clients within their region, including ad-hoc meetings and quarterly business reviews
  • Work closely with internal teams, ensuring client needs are met and campaigns are run successfully.
  • Working with the finance team to ensure correct billing of all campaigns.
  • Delivering against quarterly and full year gross profit targets, as well as track and communicate progress against sales goals and targets.
  • Forecasting accuracy +/- 95%

Skills and experience 

  • University degree in a relevant field.
  • 5 Years + experience within a senior sales role with proven track record in supporting sales, selling and closing of BPO and/or professional services in roles such as sales, account lead and solution architect.
  • 5 years + experience in developing client accounts, with the development of a detailed sales plan, with regular client planning and strategy meetings.
  • Experience originating and closing £0.5m+ deals in BPO such as: software & platform industry solutions, cloud, supply chain.
  • Experience with C Suite level client relationships, relationship building & management.
  • Commercial acumen with previous P&L management experience.
  • MS Office experience (essential).
